Heidebeat Festival (Schmelz, Germany) 2027

Heidebeat Festival returns to the Heidebad in Schmelz on 7 August 2027, running a single day of electronic music at the open air swimming baths in the Saarland. The event is organised by the local non profit association local move e.V., which uses the festival to fund community work in the area, and it has grown from a small local party into one of the better known one day events in the region.

The booking mixes international names with DJs from the Saarland and neighbouring Rhineland-Palatinate, and the setting does a lot of the work: a public lido with pools, lawns and trees, taken over for the day with stages and bars. Official aftermovies from 2022 onwards sit on the festival’s own channel and show the format clearly.

Tickets are sold through the festival’s own online shop, which also carries merchandise, and there is an open application route for DJs who want to play. Schmelz sits in the Saarland between Saarlouis and Merzig, around 30 minutes from Saarbruecken by road and close to the French and Luxembourg borders. The 2027 line up had not been announced at the time of writing. For a one day German music festival with a charitable purpose, it is an unusually straightforward proposition.
