The Sultan Room

The Sultan Room is a live music and club venue at 234 Starr Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn, a short walk from the Jefferson Street stop on the L train. It shares the building with The Turk's Inn restaurant and has its own rooftop. The room, which bills itself as an exotic oasis in Bushwick, has patterned light panels, a mirror ball, a stage built for intimate shows and a full bar, and holds 201 people standing or 115 seated. Early evenings are mostly indie, rock and pop gigs, and late nights turn to club programming: Afro-centric dance parties such as Home & Abroad and Afrobeat Nights NYC, The Pink Rambo's tech house and disco nights, and queer parties such as Fruit Juice. Most events are 21+.

21+ unless the event says otherwise, with a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID or passport; photos of IDs are not accepted. Bags are inspected and late club nights and sold-out shows have a mandatory bag check.
