About Prohibition

Prohibition is a nightclub at 206 Wickham Street in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, designed as a 1920s speakeasy. A grand stairway leads down from the street to The Blind Tiger, a speakeasy-style bar with raw brick walls and filament lighting, and on through recycled timber double doors to the Main Hall. There, a large square bar faces the dancefloor, which is lit by LED tubes and neon batons, and the DJ booth is trimmed with vintage mirrors and a gramophone. Sound comes through a Funktion-One system. Resident DJs play house and electronic music in the Main Room at weekends, while the Garden Bar mixes house, pop and R&B classics. The club opens from 9pm Thursday to Saturday, and guest nights include Wax Motif on 6 November 2026.
