About Goethebunker

Goethebunker is a club inside a Second World War air-raid bunker at Goethestraße 67 in Essen, a short walk from Rüttenscheider Stern. Before it became a club, the bunker housed a shop for horse riding supplies, which is why the club's logo is a horse: the original horse sign of Reitbedarf Lenartz still hangs on the facade next to bullet holes. Inside it is raw reinforced concrete on two floors, and the club warns that anyone expecting comfort and extras will be disappointed. Its main night, Bunkernacht, marks 14 years on 2 October 2026 with the resident crew Amotik, EPHIE, Sedin and dj catmilf, and Residents & Friends nights run alongside it. Past Bunkernacht guests include Eric Cloutier, and the club publishes the Goethebunker Podcast mix series on SoundCloud.
