About Crybaby
Crybaby is a music venue and club at 1928 Telegraph Avenue in Uptown Oakland, across the street from the historic Fox Theater. It took over the space of the former Uptown Nightclub and keeps its underground roots, but with a more open booking policy: the venue hosts local promoters, international brands and live bands as well as DJs. The main room has a d&b audiotechnik sound system built to handle both bands and DJ sets, a DJ booth with four Pioneer CDJ-3000s and Technics turntables, a mezzanine and an outdoor patio. The autumn 2026 calendar mixes Latin parties such as Desmadre, afrobeats and hip-hop nights, queer parties, throwback nights and the monthly Life of the Party on Oakland's First Fridays. Most club nights are 21+ with doors at 10pm.
