All About ĀTMĀN
Born and raised in Kolkata, India, ĀTMĀN moved to Berlin to explore new creative possibilities and soon found his passion for DJing. Though his love for mixing music was ignited during his undergrad days — when he used to make mixtapes for dance lessons — it never fully materialized until recently. Now, despite being new to the scene, he is rapidly making waves in Berlin’s club scene. He co-founded Pikante Kollektiv with some of his close friends from his Berlin family, building a community that celebrates high-energy, hot & spicy electronic music.
Starting his personal journey with melodic techno, his sound has evolved into a fusion of acid, hard trance, bounce, and hard groove — delivering pulsating rhythms and powerful basslines that electrify the dance floor. Always pushing creative boundaries, ĀTMĀN likes to experiment with new sounds, infusing unexpected elements into his sets. Yet, despite these explorations, his selections seamlessly blend with his existing style, creating a unique yet familiar energy on the dance floor. This fearless approach to sound design allows him to craft dynamic and immersive sonic journeys that captivate his audience.
Deeply inspired by artists like Charlotte de Witte, Indira Paganotto, Boston168, Maddix, AIROD, ÅMRTÜM, Marlon Hoffstadt, and Funk Tribu for their distinguishable music, ĀTMĀN crafts sets that merge hypnotic and acid techno elements with euphoric trance energy and deep-rooted Indian vocal influences.
Rooted in both tradition and innovation, his name, derived from Sanskrit, means “soul” — a reflection of his mission to evoke deep emotion and euphoric movement through music. Looking ahead, ĀTMĀN is set to venture into music production, aiming to create a unique sonic signature that bridges his cultural heritage with cutting-edge electronic sounds.
