All About Jamie S
Born in Leeds, UK, to an English mother and a Turkish father, Jamie S moved to Turkey with his family at an early age. He spent his childhood digging through his grandfather’s vinyl collection, ranging from disco, funk, jazz, and soul records. He has always been involved in the local electronic music scene as a raver and promoter, but moved behind the decks in 2015.
Jamie S established his career by hosting go-to residencies and playing in every major event and festival in one of the hottest underground scenes of Europe, Istanbul with names like Bedouin, Lee Burridge, Satori, WhoMadeWho, Kerala Dust, Rodriguez Jr., Booka Shade, Gerd Janson, Peter Schumann, The Sorry Entertainer, Red Axes and Kalabrese. Thus, his genre-bending selections from a wide variety of sounds and his restless soul carry the marks of this charming city, bridging the gap between different cultures.
In the name of unity and love, this self-confessed storyteller plays straight from the heart, not pigeonholing himself into just one sound.
