Solar Weekend (Roermond, Netherlands) 2027

Solar Weekend returns to Roermond from 29 July to 1 August 2027, running four days in the Limburg lake district in the south east of the Netherlands. The festival has built its identity on a mix of electronic music, live acts and visual art, with a large share of the production handled by independent creatives who apply directly to the organisers rather than being commissioned through agencies.

Camping for the 2027 edition had already sold out at the time of writing, which is the clearest signal of how the on sale has gone, and the organisers were still running an open call for creatives to contribute to the site build. The 2027 line up had not been published. Solar typically announces across several waves through the spring rather than in a single reveal.

Roermond sits on the Maas close to the German border, with a direct train from Eindhoven in around 40 minutes and Dusseldorf roughly the same distance on the other side. The surrounding Maasplassen lakes make it a holiday area in its own right in high summer, so accommodation outside the campsite fills up quickly. For a four day Dutch music festival that treats art as more than decoration, Solar holds a distinct place in the calendar.
