About The DBA

The DBA is the Derby Brewery Arms, a Joseph Holt pub at 95 Cheetham Hill Road in Cheetham, just north of Manchester city centre, which now runs as a working community pub and queer venue known for inclusive raves. The building is a Grade II listed former hotel from the mid to late 19th century, recorded as the Knowsley Hotel and standing near Holt's Derby Brewery on Empire Street; by 1950 it had become a pub. DJ nights take place in the bar and courtyard and are run mostly by local collectives and queer parties such as Meat Free, BENT, Boudica, GASH and Ghouls Club, with guests including Jennifer Cardini for Sticky Heat's birthday in January 2026. In February 2026 the DBA also hosted a club takeover of the North Warehouse at Aviva Studios.
