About Gorilla

Gorilla is a bar, kitchen, stage and club at 54-56 Whitworth Street in Manchester city centre, close to Oxford Road station. It opened in 2012 and has become a regular stop on the city's gig circuit, hosting new indie bands and bigger names such as The 1975, Foals and Kylie Minogue for smaller shows; during the pandemic it nearly closed before a public campaign saved it. The Stage and Club room holds from 100 up to 550 or 600 standing, and the site also has a bar and restaurant, a mezzanine Gin Parlour with more than 50 gins and a private Studio. Gigs usually start at 19:00, and club nights take over from 23:00: the NOW PLAYING Wednesday series, Brainiac with Napes and DJ Flight, Interim, NuTopia and Twilight Rave are on the autumn 2026 calendar.
