About Opium

Opium is a restaurant, bar and nightclub on three floors at 26 Wexford Street in Dublin 2. By day it serves Asian fusion food from Thailand, Japan and Vietnam with cocktails, and its heated Botanical Garden bar turns into the Electric Garden at night, with disco lights and Pioneer speakers. The nightclub, Opium Live, has been refurbished with several LED screens, two bars, a smoking area and a large dance floor, takes its look from Tokyo and manga, and holds 700 people standing. Guests over the years include Sasha, Todd Terry, Maya Jane Coles, Dimitri From Paris, Danny Tenaglia, Henrik Schwarz, Sunil Sharpe and Grandmaster Flash. The venue belongs to the Mercantile Group and also hosts drag brunches, themed parties and private events.
