About Mercati Generali

Mercati Generali is a club and live music venue in Contrada Junghetto, in the countryside south of Catania, which opened to the public on 20 June 1998. The winter programme runs in three rooms inside a palmento, a late 19th-century building made for producing and storing wine, while from May to October events move to a restored courtyard next to it. The programme mixes electronic DJs and live acts with independent music: Apparat played a DJ set in 2025, and Rareș and Shigeto are booked for autumn 2026, often as Sunday afternoon parties. The team also runs the Ricci Weekender festival, and the venue serves pizza and wine alongside the music.
