Ortigia Music (Siracusa, Italy) 2027

Ortigia Music returns to Ortigia from 30 July to 1 August 2027, bringing three days of programming back to the small island that forms the historic centre of Siracusa in south eastern Sicily. The organisers have confirmed the dates and described 2027 as the return of the full experience, with the line up and ticket details to follow for anyone signed up to the festival mailing list.

Ortigia is barely a kilometre across, connected to the Sicilian mainland by two short bridges, and the festival uses the fabric of the island as its venue: baroque squares, waterfront bastions and courtyards within the old city rather than a purpose built site. That setting has made it one of the more distinctive electronic events in southern Italy and has drawn an international audience that treats the trip as a holiday rather than a weekend away.

Siracusa is around an hour from Catania Fontanarossa airport by road or bus, and the old city is small enough to walk end to end in 20 minutes, which means accommodation anywhere on the island puts you inside the festival footprint. July and August are peak season in Sicily, so rooms in Ortigia itself go early. For a music festival that uses a UNESCO listed town centre as its site, it stands fairly well alone.
