About Gibus Club
Gibus Club is a nightclub in the basement of a courtyard at 18 Rue du Faubourg du Temple in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, a short walk from Place de la République. It opened in 1967 and became a rock venue: from 1977 the punk generation played there, followed by bands such as The Police and Téléphone, and in the 1990s thrash and death metal groups. The club later opened its programme to electronic music and hip hop. Today it calls itself a gay club for the LGBTQIA+ community, with several spaces, a VIP area and a smoking room, and it opens from Thursday to Sunday. Regular nights include The House, a pop party on Fridays, MENERGY, a monthly house party created in 2014, and Legacy, a Sunday night with contemporary afro sounds.
