Street Parade 2026: 900,000 Dance Through Zurich at the World’s Biggest Techno Party
Roughly 900,000 people packed the shores of Lake Zurich for the 33rd Street Parade on 8 August 2026 under the motto Together We Move, with 906 medical call-outs and 30 arrests logged across the day.
Zurich became one vast open-air dancefloor on Saturday 8 August, when roughly 900,000 people flooded the shores of Lake Zurich for the 33rd Street Parade. Staged under the motto Together We Move, the free event held its place as the biggest techno party on the planet, sending more than two dozen Love Mobiles crawling a 2.4 km loop past nine stages and over 200 artists.

A demonstration that happens to be a party
The trick that keeps Street Parade free is a legal one. It is registered as a political demonstration for love, peace, freedom and tolerance, so there is no ticket and no gate. The DJs play without a fee, and the day is funded by sponsors, drinks stands, licensing and voluntary donations of 10, 20 or 50 francs. Staging it costs organisers around 4.8 million francs, yet they reckon the weekend pumps well over 100 million francs into the Swiss economy through hotels, transport and hospitality.
The day in numbers
The heat left its mark. Emergency crews logged 906 treatments at first-aid posts, up from 757 a year earlier, with cuts and grazes and alcohol the two biggest causes; 45 people were taken to hospital and 128 moved to emergency accommodation. Police reported 30 arrests for offences ranging from theft to drug dealing, and seized amphetamine, ketamine, cocaine and more than 100 ecstasy tablets. No one was seriously hurt, and cleaning crews cleared close to 90 tonnes of waste from the quays by the following morning.
The TA view
Street Parade still makes the strongest argument in dance music: a near-million crowd, no ticket, and a city that treats a rave as civic infrastructure rather than a nuisance. The rising medical count is the number to watch, and it says less about the crowd than about a hotter August. Free water and shade now matter as much as the line-up.
