FMSAO and Vika Kuchak join forces on Voda, a new Fuselab single drifting between warm house and soft IDM with lo-fi textures and an ambient feel.

Fuselab co-founder FMSAO has teamed up with vocalist Vika Kuchak for “Voda”, a new single released through the independent imprint on 3 July. The title translates as “water”, and the track moves the same way: unhurried, warm and quietly hypnotic.

FMSAO is the project of Evgeniy Shchukin, one of the founders of Fuselab, a label that has spent years documenting the more reflective corners of electronic music. Kuchak is a familiar name in the catalogue too. Her album “Stels” arrived on Fuselab in 2024, and she has previously worked with Nocow, so “Voda” continues a creative partnership that already runs deep.

Between Warm House and Soft IDM

“Voda” sits somewhere between warm house and soft IDM. A broken beat carries the track while lo-fi textures and ambient layers nod to the downtempo waves of the 2000s. Kuchak’s voice is the anchor: warm, slightly fragile and dissolved into the layered synths rather than placed on top of them. The result works both as a mood and as a rhythm, suited to headphone listening and slow dancefloors alike.

Shchukin also handled the mastering himself, keeping the whole release in-house at Fuselab.
