About New Year’s At The Bowl
New Year’s At The Bowl returns to Melbourne on 31 December 2026, the New Year’s Eve event staged at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in the Kings Domain. The Bowl is the outdoor amphitheatre on the edge of the Melbourne CBD, with the lawn rising away from a covered stage, and it has hosted the city’s New Year dance event for years.
Live Nation produce it, which gives the event access to a touring circuit most Australian New Year events cannot reach, and the organisers publish an official aftermovie for each edition. The location means the Melbourne CBD fireworks are visible from the site at midnight.
Tickets are sold through Moshtix. The Sidney Myer Music Bowl is a ten minute walk from Flinders Street station through the Alexandra Gardens, with Melbourne’s tram network running extended services on New Year’s Eve, which makes it one of the easiest large events in Australia to get to and leave. Late December in Melbourne is warm but changeable. For an Australian New Year music festival, the Bowl is the most central site in the country.
