Into the Woods returns to the Bosspot Openluchttheater in Amersfoort on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 September 2026, with both days running from 12:00 until midnight. Both dates are sold out, and the organisers are pointing buyers towards an official waiting list rather than resale platforms. The site sits on the edge of Bos Birkhoven, where the open air theatre and the woodland around it are rebuilt each year into a network of stages, artworks and lighting installations.
The 2026 programme runs to more than 90 artists, spread across stages named Beukenbos, Knoest, Takkenstage, Wildgroei, Stekplek and Into the Groove. Friday brings Joris Voorn, DVS1, Palms Trax, Patrick Mason, Nicky Elisabeth, De Sluwe Vos, Obskür, Delano Legito, Kamma and Ciao Lucifer, moving between melodic house, hypnotic techno and club oddities. Saturday hands the forest to Luke Slater, RY X in a DJ set, PARAMIDA, The Flexican, Promo, Narciss, Prunk, In Verruf, DIØN and Mischluft, with rave and hardcore material sitting next to slower, stranger records.
The festival began on 11 September 2010 as the first electronic music event of its kind in Amersfoort, put together by the team that now works under the Kultlab banner. Sixteen years on it remains a single venue, two day affair rather than a camping weekend, and much of its reputation rests on production: painted stage constructions, sculptures hidden between the trees and lighting that only makes sense after dark. The first edition was held on 11 September 2010 at the same open air theatre in Amersfoort, billed as the first electronic music festival in the city. It is organised by the Kultlab team, who also run a separate Into the Woods ADE edition at NDSM in Amsterdam on 23 and 24 October 2026.
Can I still get tickets for Into the Woods 2026?
All tickets for the Amersfoort edition are sold out. The organisers run an official waiting list through tickets.intothewoods.nl, and Paylogic Resale is the only sanctioned way to buy or sell a ticket. Tickets are personalised, ID is checked at the gate, and they are only sent out in the week of the festival.
How do I get to the festival site?
Shuttle buses run between Amersfoort Centraal station and the festival site from 11:00 until 01:00, boarding at the front of the station. A return ticket costs 8.50 euro and is bought through the Paylogic MyOrder environment. An OV-fiets from the station is the alternative for anyone who prefers to cycle.
