Geheime Liefde (Bunnik, Netherlands) 2027

Geheime Liefde runs on 1 and 8 May 2027 at Fort bij Vechten near Bunnik, two separate Saturdays rather than a continuous run. The organisers invite you to unravel the mysteries of the fort, with a secret line up sounding through the tunnels and passages waiting to be discovered.

Keeping the line up secret is the entire concept, and the venue makes it work. Fort bij Vechten is a nineteenth century fortification on the Dutch Water Line outside Utrecht, with earthworks, brick casemates and underground passages that give the festival rooms no purpose built site could match.

Tickets are sold through the festival’s own site, and sales have historically restarted when new capacity is released. The fort is 15 minutes from Utrecht by road and reachable by bus, with Utrecht Centraal half an hour from Amsterdam by direct train. Early May in the Netherlands is mild at around 15 degrees. For a Dutch music festival that tells you nothing about who is playing, Geheime Liefde is the one that gets away with it.
