Culture Box Chillout (Copenhagen, Denmark) 2027

Culture Box Chillout returns to Oestre Anlaeg in Copenhagen on 9 and 10 July 2027, a two day downtempo festival staged in the park behind Statens Museum for Kunst. The event is run by Culture Box, the Copenhagen club that has been a fixture of the Danish electronic scene for more than two decades, and it works as the daylight counterpart to the club’s programme.

The format is slow by design. Both days run a free open air vinyasa yoga class in the late afternoon, there is a bar and street food on site, and the music sits in downtempo, deep house and ambient territory rather than peak time club material. Recent editions have carried El Mundo, Tim Andresen, Eski, Djuma Soundsystem, Angebot and Ida Daugaard, with the programme split across the two days.

Oestre Anlaeg is one of the older public parks in central Copenhagen, laid out on the line of the city’s former ramparts, and the festival uses the lawns and tree cover rather than building a hard arena. The event has been supported by Koebenhavns Kommune and Statens Kunstfond, which keeps it closer to a public park event than a commercial festival.
