Horizon Festival (Herning, Denmark) 2027

Horizon Festival takes place at Fermaten in Herning on 27 February 2027, a single day the organisers describe as expanding your horizon of electronic music through underground sounds, raw energy and discoveries. Herning is in central Jutland, the part of Denmark furthest from Copenhagen in both distance and attitude.

Fermaten is the town’s long established music venue, and the festival works with Sona Herning, Agora by Ines and the Vali Theatre Lab, which places the event inside the local cultural infrastructure rather than beside it. The emphasis on discovery rather than headliners is the organising principle.

Tickets are sold through Fermaten. Herning is three hours from Copenhagen by train and 90 minutes from Aarhus, with Billund airport an hour away and Karup closer still. Late February in Jutland is cold and dark, which concentrates the winter calendar indoors. A festival at this scale in a town of 50,000 only works because the audience travels for it. For a Danish underground music festival, Horizon is the one outside the capital.
