Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, known simply as Coachella, is held each April at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. The 2027 edition runs across two weekends, from 9 to 11 April and from 16 to 18 April 2027, following the same two-weekend format used in recent years. The festival’s history is long enough that a feature documentary, Coachella: 20 Years in the Desert, is promoted on the official site alongside the previous lineups archive.
The 2027 Advance Sale opened on 1 May 2026, with three-day general admission passes starting at 599 USD for Weekend 1 and 549 USD for Weekend 2. That sale is now closed and the official site directs anyone without a pass to the waitlist at coachella.com/waitlist. Hotel packages and Amex pass options are also listed for 2027. The lineup has not been announced and is expected in autumn 2026.
Coachella is a multi-genre event, but electronic music has a strong presence and the festival has long been a stop for house, techno and bass acts alongside pop and rock headliners. Weekend 1 and Weekend 2 usually share the same lineup, and recent editions have been streamed on YouTube. For a techno festival audience it remains one of the biggest dance stages in North America, set on polo fields in the Coachella Valley desert east of Palm Springs.
