About Volksgarten

Volksgarten is a nightclub inside the Volksgarten park on Vienna's Ringstrasse, on Burgring in the 1st district next to Heldenplatz. The club uses the Säulenhalle, a colonnaded hall built from 1820 to 1823 as the Cortisches Kaffeehaus, where Johann Strauss II conducted the first performance of the instrumental version of the Blue Danube waltz in 1867; its modernist winter garden dates from the 1950s. Today it opens Thursday to Saturday and before most public holidays from 23:00 to 06:00, playing current club sounds: house, R&B, pop and hip hop. Entry is EUR 18 in cash at the door and the minimum age is 21. In spring and summer, table guests can also use an outdoor VIP area and the Belvedere garden. The club is run by Peter Böhm Cafe- und Restaurantbetriebe.
