About CLUB METRO

CLUB METRO is a basement club in Kyoto that opened in 1990, and it describes itself as the longest-running club still operating in the city. It sits on the B1 floor of the Ebisu Building by the Kawabata-Marutamachi crossing in Sakyo Ward, with a direct entrance from exit 2 of Jingu-Marutamachi Station on the Keihan line. The room holds 300 people standing. METRO books live shows and DJ nights across many genres, and its own history lists Daft Punk, Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills and James Blake among past guests, along with early shows by Kyoto acts such as Kyoto Jazz Massive and Quruli. The Diamonds Are Forever party, started by members of the performance group Dumb Type and Simone Fukayuki, has run since the club's first years. The October 2026 programme includes Stefan Goldmann and DJ Kawasaki.
