The DJ Awards made a grand return to Ibiza on October 2, 2024, for its 23rd edition, following a four-year hiatus. Hosted at Chinois, the evening was a resounding success, filled with music, celebration, and plenty of memorable moments. Legendary DJs, industry figures, and fans gathered to honor the biggest names in dance music, marking a triumphant revival for what is often called the “Oscars of dance music“.
Among the evening’s top winners was Sven Väth, who took home the award for “Best Techno DJ“. Fisher was crowned “Best International DJ“, and Sam Divine was recognized as “Best House DJ“. The atmosphere was electric as the awards were announced in various categories, and industry legends took the stage to receive their honors. BBC Radio 1‘s Jaguar and presenter Katie Knight hosted the night, keeping the crowd entertained throughout the event.

The genre awards saw notable names such as Black Coffee winning “Best Afro DJ“, Armin Van Buuren claiming “Best Trance DJ“, and Vintage Culture taking home “Best Tech House DJ“, presented by The Hub Ibiza Studios. Other big winners included Chase & Status for “Best Drum and Bass DJ“, WhoMadeWho for “Best Organic House DJ“, and CamelPhat, who won “Best Progressive House DJ“, presented by Christoffe Champagne. Róisín Murphy was honored as “Best Live Act“, while Miss Monique received the “Breakthrough DJ award“, presented by Riot Noise.
In addition to the genre categories, several special Industry Awards were handed out, celebrating the contributions of key figures in the scene. Luciano was awarded the “Ibiza Icon Award“, presented by Ibiza Global Radio, while David Guetta‘s famed “F*** Me I’m Famous” party at Ushuaïa Ibiza and the Future Rave event at Hi Ibiza were named “Best Ibiza Party“, presented by Hibiki. Javier Anadon received the “Lifetime Achievement Award“, and Adam Port‘s track “Move” featuring Malachiii was named “Ibiza Track of the Summer“.
Further accolades included the “What’s Hot Global” award, which went to Keinemusik, the “Global Festival” award won by Defected Croatia, and the “Play It Back Award” for Michael Bibi‘s One Life Campaign. The “Eye on… USA” award spotlighted Gospel New York as a standout.
After the main event, the celebrations continued with an epic afterparty, where Luciano, Cristoph, Mathew Jonson, Ben Sterling, and Manu Gonzalez delivered unforgettable sets, keeping the energy high late into the night.
The DJ Awards, originally founded in 1998 by José Pascual and Lenny Krarup, have long been a pivotal part of the dance music world. Now under new ownership and with renewed investment, the awards are back in full force, promising even bigger things for the future, with new locations already in the works for next year (2025).
