Nine Destination Festivals Worth Travelling For in 2026 and 2027
From a five star resort in Crete to the pyramids of Giza: nine house and techno festivals where the location is half the reason to go, with dates, lineups and links.

Some festivals you go to for the lineup. Others you go to for where they are, and the music comes with the trip. The second kind has grown into its own corner of the calendar: house and techno weekends on Caribbean islands, Brazilian beaches, Moroccan coastline and Indian desert forts, where people plan a whole holiday around a few nights of dancing.
These nine are the ones we would book flights for, listed in the order they next come around, from a resort in Crete next week to the pyramids of Giza next November.
Bateleur, Crete, Greece
22 to 25 October 2026 · Elounda Bay Palace, Elounda
Bateleur takes over an entire five star resort on the Cretan coast for four days, with a capacity of around 500. Days run from the pool to the beach, and the parties carry on until sunrise. The music is house in its warmer, more underground forms, and the small crowd is the point.
Dennis Ferrer, Rafael and OMRI. were the first names confirmed, followed by Miguelle & Tons, Bontan, Alik, Bonafique, CJ Jeff and SIK&SEM. Nothing has been said about 2027 yet.

Réveillon Carneiros, Pernambuco, Brazil
26 December 2026 to 2 January 2027 · Praia dos Carneiros
Réveillon Carneiros stretches New Year’s Eve into eight days on one of the best known beaches in northeast Brazil. Sunset sessions lead into five themed nights, and the programme mixes international house with Brazilian headliners from well outside electronic music.
This edition has Black Coffee, Jamie Jones, ANOTR, Michael Bibi, WhoMadeWho, Adriatique b2b Vintage Culture and Mochakk b2b Maz, alongside Gilberto Gil, João Gomes and Thiaguinho. For the mornings after, a Wellness Club runs yoga, ice baths and spa treatments. Dates, tickets and travel notes are on our Réveillon Carneiros festival page.

Zamna, Tulum, Mexico
31 December 2026 to 10 January 2027 · 10th anniversary season
Zamna built its name in the jungle outside Tulum with heavy production and stages that feel like sets, and it is now one of the main reasons the electronic music world spends early January on the Mexican Caribbean. The season is a run of separate events rather than one festival weekend, so you can pick a few nights and spend the rest of the trip on the beach.
The 10th anniversary season opens on New Year’s Eve and Adam Port is confirmed to close it on 10 January. More on the Zamna Tulum page.

Magnetic Fields: Nomads, Rajasthan, India
2027 dates to be announced · Abheygarh, Khetri · last edition 13 to 15 February 2026
Magnetic Fields made its reputation at the Alsisar Mahal palace. Its newer format, Nomads, is smaller and moves the party to Abheygarh in Khetri, with stages set inside old Rajasthani architecture. Over three days it covers leftfield electronic music, ambient, experimental live sets and regional sounds, which makes it one of the more adventurous bookings on this list.
The 2026 edition had Rival Consoles, Barker, DJ SWISHA, D. Tiffany, Elias Mazian, Auntie Flo and Kia. The Sanctuary area offers sound baths and workshops between sets. The next dates have not been confirmed.

SXM Festival, Saint Martin / Sint Maarten
17 to 21 March 2027 · 10th edition
SXM uses the whole island as its venue: beaches, a jungle clearing, villas and hilltop spots with a view over the sea. Five days of house and techno are spread between day parties and late sets, which leaves time to explore the French and Dutch sides between them.
The first wave for the 10th edition includes Bob Sinclar, Claptone, Dennis Cruz, Franky Rizardo, Guy Gerber, MEDUZA, Patrick Topping and Sasha, with more to come. Follow the lineup on our SXM Festival 2027 page.

Day Zero, Bali, Indonesia
Mid April 2027, exact dates to be announced
Damian Lazarus took Day Zero beyond Tulum for the first time in April 2026, with Bali as its second home. The main event runs from sunset to sunrise, and the week around it adds smaller parties and wellness sessions at venues across the island.
The first Bali edition held its main festival at GWK Cultural Park, and the satellite events brought in Gerd Janson, John Summit, Be Svendsen, Dennis Cruz and Francis Mercier. The music stays close to the Day Zero sound of underground house and techno. The 2027 lineup has not been announced.

The Air House, Nami Island, South Korea
2027 dates to be announced
The Air House sets up on Nami Island, with stages in forest clearings, by the river and next to traditional Korean buildings. Campers stay on site, and the festival puts real weight on art and environmental work. Musically it leans underground, with room for minimal, ambient and live sets next to the house and techno.
Past editions have booked Sven Väth, Rhadoo, Âme, Nicolas Lutz, Craig Richards, Sébastien Léger, Marco Shuttle and DJ Soulscape, along with Korean artists such as Jang Kiha and Mogwaa. Dates and names for 2027 are still to come.

MOGA Festival, Essaouira, Morocco
6 to 10 October 2027 · main MOGA IN programme 8 to 10 October
MOGA brings international DJs and Moroccan artists to the Atlantic town of Essaouira for five days. The MOGA OFF side spreads into the city with workshops, surf sessions and yoga, so the festival reads as much like a week away as a party.
The 2026 anniversary edition featured ANOTR, Jamie Jones, The Martinez Brothers, Richy Ahmed, Sonja Moonear and Rhadoo. The 2027 dates are already set, which makes MOGA one of the easiest trips on this list to plan early.

Starlight Festival, Giza, Egypt
5 and 6 November 2027 · Great Pyramids of Giza
Starlight, produced by EXIT Festival and P+US, put a multi stage festival in front of the Great Pyramids for the first time on 9 and 10 October 2026, with opening and closing events in Cairo on either side. The debut sold out.
The first lineup covered house, techno and harder sounds, with Adriatique, Charlotte de Witte, Michael Bibi, Indira Paganotto, Enrico Sangiuliano, Pete Tong, Vintage Culture and WhoMadeWho. Pre registration for the second edition is open on the festival website. See our Starlight Festival page for the background.

Planning the trip
Most of these sell travel packages or partner hotels, and the smaller ones (Bateleur, Magnetic Fields: Nomads) have limited capacity, so accommodation tends to go before tickets do. Where dates are still to be announced, the festival newsletter is usually the first place they appear. For more dates around the world, browse the full techno festivals calendar.
