Strand Festival (Zamardi, Hungary) 2027

Strand Festival returns to Zamardi on the southern shore of Lake Balaton from 19 to 21 August 2027, running three days on the beach that gives the festival its name. Strand means beach in Hungarian, and the format is exactly that: stages set on the sand with the lake behind them, programmed with Hungarian headliners alongside international bookings.

The 2026 edition set a record, drawing more than 94,000 guests across four days, which makes Strand the largest festival on the Balaton and one of the biggest in Hungary after Sziget. The organisers, who also run Sziget, lean on the holiday setting: Zamardi is a resort town and much of the audience treats the festival as part of a longer stay on the lake.

Tickets are sold through the official site, with a free membership scheme, the WOLT Plus Strand Club, giving early access to announcements and exclusive discounts. The organisers also partner with the Oszkar ride sharing platform to cut travel costs from Budapest, which is around 90 minutes away by road or train. The 2027 line up had not been published at the time of writing. For a lakeside Hungarian music festival, it is the one that fills the Balaton.
