MUTEK returns to Montréal from 25 to 30 August 2026 for its 27th edition, six days and nights of electronic music and digital art staged across the downtown Quartier des Spectacles. The 2026 programme is built around the theme of amplification and gathers close to 120 artists from 28 countries, many of them appearing in the city for the first time. Indoor concerts run at the Society for Arts and Technology, MTELUS, the Maison Symphonique and, for the first time, the Studio-Theatre of Les Grands Ballets, while free outdoor sets take over the esplanade Tranquille every evening from 5 p.m.

The bill is split into five series, each with its own tone and setting. The Nocturne series at the Society for Arts and Technology holds the festival core, with A Guy Called Gerald, Matthew Herbert, Barker, Korea Town Acid and Evicshen among the names. The Métropolis nights at MTELUS turn towards the dancefloor, led by Jeff Mills, Rival Consoles, Ben UFO, JakoJako and Polygonia. At the Maison Symphonique, the X/Visions series matches the hall’s acoustics with work from Kali Malone, Fennesz & Lillevan, Kara-Lis Coverdale and Voices From The Lake.

Founded in Montréal in 2000, MUTEK has become a reference point on the international electronic music festival calendar, with sister editions in cities such as Barcelona, Mexico City and Tokyo. The Montréal event keeps its weight on live performance and audiovisual pieces rather than headline DJ sets, and the 2026 programme also carries the MUTEK Forum of talks and the third Village Numérique of digital installations.
