About MEME Festival
MEME Festival returns to Winnipeg on 11 and 12 June 2027, run by Memetic, the organisation behind what it calls Winnipeg’s electronic underground. MEME stands for the Manitoba Electronic Music Exhibition of Technology, Innovation and Creativity.
Memetic describe themselves as dedicated to the dissemination and development of digital creativity in sound, music and audio-visual art, which places the festival closer to a media arts event than a dance weekend, with the audio-visual side given equal weight.
Tickets are sold through the Memetic site, which also runs an open music application for artists wanting to play the 2027 edition. Winnipeg is the capital of Manitoba in the centre of Canada, with its own international airport and direct flights from Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Minneapolis. Mid June on the prairies is warm at around 24 degrees with very long evenings. For a Canadian electronic music festival on the prairies, MEME is the one.
