About Kaņepes Kultūras centrs
Kaņepes Kultūras centrs (KKC) is a cultural centre, bar and music venue in a green building at Skolas iela 15 in central Riga. The house is over 100 years old: it hosted social events for Baltic German and Russian aristocrats, was a dormitory for Art Academy students in the Soviet period, and housed the Jāzepa Mediņa music school for more than 40 years until 2009. Musicians, artists and activists have used it since 2012, and KKC, a social enterprise since 2020, is restoring the building room by room. The programme mixes concerts, film screenings, talks and DJ nights, including the Sofa Sessions vinyl series and a DJ academy, and earlier club nights such as MEGIJA. In summer 2026 the terrace hosted eight concerts, from Nova Koma to Domenique Dumont.
