About Holocene

Holocene is a music venue and nightclub in the old Best Auto Parts warehouse on the corner of SE 10th Avenue and Morrison Street in Portland. It sits in the Buckman neighbourhood on the inner east side and opened in June 2003. The 5,000 square foot space holds 312 people and has white walls, 25 foot ceilings and bow trusses, with two main rooms that each have their own sound system, lights and projection; a folding wall lets them open into one large room. The programme mixes touring bands, local musicians and arts events with dance parties almost every weekend night from 21:00, covering electronic music, house, disco, drum and bass and pop. Nearly all nights are 21+.
