About Culture

Culture is a 5,500 square foot event space at 2006 Fenwick Street NE in the Ivy City area of Washington DC. It was opened in May 2023 by the dance music collective Nü Androids and its founder Nayef Issa. The room was built to be modular: the stage and lighting move from show to show around a fixed Danley Sound Labs system, and the walls and ceiling are insulated so the sound stays inside. The floor holds about 400 to 500 people, with an atrium lounge that links to the restaurant Vera Cocina next door. Culture opens only for shows and events rather than as a nightly club. The autumn 2026 programme includes Nü Androids nights with Arlo, ACRAZE, Slugg and Skream playing open to close, plus diffuse Sunday day parties.
