About Berns

Berns is a hotel, restaurant, concert venue and nightclub complex in Berzelii Park in central Stockholm, between Nybroplan, Hamngatan and Norrmalmstorg. It opened on 1 August 1863, built for the royal pastry chef Heinrich Robert Berns to designs by Johan Fredrik Åbom, and was extended in 1886. Its gilded salons with mirrors and balconies have hosted Josephine Baker, Aretha Franklin and Frank Sinatra, and its Red Room gave its name to August Strindberg's novel. Berns has been part of Stureplansgruppen since 2011.

The house runs four nightclubs on Friday and Saturday nights. NEU is the techno room: a 300 capacity club with lasers and a sound system built for 1,000 people, open from midnight to 05:00 for guestlist holders aged 23 and over, with local and international bookings. LE plays open format and commercial house, LE! Cocktail pop and singalong, and Terrassen pop. For concerts, the main salon holds about 1,200 people standing.
