Belgian techno powerhouse Amelie Lens has dropped her highly anticipated rework of Anyma‘s collaborative track “Voices In My Head“, originally featuring Argy and Son of Son. The remix, released through her own EXHALE imprint, takes the original composition into darker, more driving territory that’s become synonymous with Lens’ signature sound.

From Melodic Original to Peak-Time Techno

The original “Voices In My Head” appeared earlier this year as part of Anyma‘s ambitious “The End of Genesys” project. Lens has completely reimagined the track, stripping away the melodic elements and rebuilding it as a crushing, dance floor-focused techno weapon designed for prime-time sets.

When I heard the original ‘Voices In My Head’ track for the first time, the idea to make my own version got stuck in my head immediately“, Lens explained. The producer couldn’t shake the creative impulse, working on the remix until she achieved what she describes as “the perfect balance between my own sound and the original“.

EXHALE Label Continues Strong 2024 Run

This remix marks another significant release for Lens’ EXHALE label, which has been building momentum throughout 2024. The Belgian artist has been strategically curating releases that showcase both her own productions and carefully selected collaborations with other electronic music producers.

The timing coincides with Lens’ continued visibility in the global techno scene. Her recent Tomorrowland performance was archived as one of just 99 sets from this year’s festival, ensuring fans can revisit the high-energy showing that featured several unreleased tracks and exclusive edits.

Recent Activity and Future Projects

Lens has maintained a busy release schedule this year, dropping her “Serenity” EP in May, which showcased her ability to blend atmospheric elements with her characteristic hard-driving beats. The producer also announced her new party concept, “Aura“, back in March, which officially launched in June and has already begun establishing itself as a must-attend event series.

The “Voices In My Head” remix represents another step in Lens’ evolution as both a producer and label curator, demonstrating her ability to take existing material and completely reconceptualize it for the underground techno audience that has embraced her uncompromising approach to electronic music production.
