Metroplex is a techno label founded in Detroit in 1985 by Juan Atkins. Atkins released most of his own work on it under the names Model 500 and Infiniti, and the label is often listed among the first to put out Detroit techno.Other artists on the roster include Eddie Fowlkes, Kimyon, Channel One, Population One, Black Noise and DJ Bone. The label has continued to release records in recent years, with new EPs appearing in 2025. Metroplex is known in the scene as the home of Model 500 and as part of the early Detroit group that also included Transmat and KMS.
