This Is Juan Atkins Playlist on Spotify

Before there was a name for it, there was Juan Atkins. This Is Juan Atkins is Spotify’s essential-tracks playlist for the electronic pioneer, collected in one place.

Highlights include “I-94 – Remastered” as Infiniti, plus “Flash Flood – Function Remix”. He appears with Moritz Von Oswald and Borderland on “Concave 1” and “2600”. Reel By Real, Frequency, Thomas Fehlmann and Wolfgang Flür join the wider cast. Together they give a listener a long, rewarding look at a catalogue that still feels futuristic.

Futuristic, machine-driven and far ahead of its time, this is a listening session more than a party. Try it for focused work, deep dives into the roots of techno or early-hours sets. Fifty tracks run for 5 hours 58 minutes. It also pairs well with a train ride or a quiet evening, since the rhythms are hypnotic rather than loud.

The blueprint, still sounding like tomorrow.
