About Shipwrecked Festival
Shipwrecked Music and Arts Festival returns to Te Arai from 12 to 14 February 2027, three days on the Northland coast north of Auckland. The organisers call it Aotearoa’s best kept summer secret and build the whole thing around a nautical framing: gather your crew, hoist the sails, share the love.
Te Arai sits between Mangawhai and Pakiri on a long white sand beach backed by pine forest, in the stretch of coast that Auckland escapes to over the summer. The festival has run since at least 2021, publishing an official aftermovie for each edition including the 2024 and 2025 films.
Tickets are sold through Gather. Te Arai is around 90 minutes north of Auckland by road with no public transport, so most people drive or arrange a bus. Mid February in Northland is the tail end of the New Zealand summer, warm with the sea at its best. The arts programme runs alongside the music rather than behind it. For a New Zealand coastal music festival, Shipwrecked is one of the better kept secrets.
