Rhythm and Vines is New Zealand’s long running New Year festival at Waiohika Estate near Gisborne, in the Tairāwhiti region on the country’s east coast. The official site describes it as a three day music and four day camping event that has run since 2003, in one of the first places in the world to see in the new year. The 2026 edition runs from 28 December 2026 into the early hours of 1 January 2027, and according to a report in the New Zealand Herald it has been announced as the final edition in Gisborne.

The 28 December date is the Waiohika Warmup, an opening night reserved for people holding onsite camping tickets, headlined by Hamdi. The main programme runs from 29 to 31 December with the countdown carrying into 1 January. Announced names include John Summit, KI/KI, Netsky, 1991, Benee, Friction presents Synergy, Luude, Mall Grab, Sir Dave Dobbyn, Vince Staples, Layton Giordani and a long list of New Zealand acts, with more artists still to be announced. Tickets are on sale through Moshtix, and several camping allocations have already been exhausted.

The vineyard setting gives the techno festival its character, with multiple stages spread through the estate and camping among the vines. The organisers also run R&V Legends, a free loyalty programme offering presale access and perks based on how many editions a person has attended.
