Shabang Music Festival (San Luis Obispo, CA, United States) 2027

Shabang Music Festival returns to San Luis Obispo on 1 and 2 May 2027, held at 2990 Dairy Creek Road on the central coast of California. Shabang Music Co produce it, and the festival has become the main independent event on this stretch of coast between Los Angeles and San Francisco.

The site sits in the valley north of the city at El Chorro, in oak country between the Santa Lucia range and the Pacific. Shabang publish full live sets from the festival, including Sidepiece’s complete 2024 performance, rather than only highlight films.

Tickets are sold through Posh. San Luis Obispo has its own regional airport with connections through Los Angeles, San Francisco, Phoenix and Denver, and sits on the Amtrak Coast Starlight line, which makes it reachable without a car. Early May on the central coast is mild at around 21 degrees with the marine layer burning off by midday. For a Californian independent music festival, Shabang is the central coast one.
