Movement Music Festival, produced by Paxahau, takes place at Hart Plaza on the Detroit riverfront each Memorial Day weekend. The 2027 edition runs from 29 to 31 May 2027, with the official site already carrying the dates and venue. Held in the city widely regarded as the birthplace of techno, Movement is one of the most closely followed events on the North American calendar for house and techno audiences.
Tickets for 2027 are not yet on sale. The official site announces a 2027 Early Access sale on Thursday 17 September 2026 at 12pm EST through Eventim, with a sign-up form for notifications. No lineup has been announced, and the site currently points to the 2026 aftermovie, the Movement app, the festival map and a guide covering hours, FAQs, hotels, parking and transit.
Movement is a techno festival in the strictest sense: three days of house, techno and adjacent electronic styles across several stages set into the plaza’s concrete amphitheatre, with the Detroit skyline and the river as the backdrop. Afterparties across the city are a large part of the weekend, and the official site lists them alongside travel and hotel information. Expect a mix of Detroit originators and international headliners, with day programming running into the evening before the club circuit takes over.
