Refractor (Madrid, Spain) 2027

Refractor returns to Madrid from 28 to 30 May 2027, three days programmed by Organic Signs. The collective publish an official aftermovie for each edition, with films from 2023 and 2024 online, and announce the festival through their own channels rather than a ticketing platform.

Madrid’s electronic scene has grown considerably over the past decade without producing many festivals of its own, which leaves room for something like Refractor: organiser led, modest in scale and built on the local audience rather than tourism.

Madrid has direct flights from everywhere through Barajas, 20 minutes from the centre by metro, and the AVE puts Barcelona and Seville both under three hours away. Late May in Madrid is warm at around 26 degrees before the summer heat makes the city difficult. For a Spanish capital music festival, Refractor is the independent one.
