Painted Skies runs from 13 to 15 November 2026 at Apple Valley in the California high desert, a camping festival the organisers describe as a SoCal renegade event. The site sits in the Mojave north east of San Bernardino, which is the part of Southern California where this kind of weekend is actually possible.

The festival is a collaboration between three crews rather than a single promoter: Sand and Subs from San Diego, Good Stuff Records from Los Angeles and Luupy from Santa Cruz. Each brings its own roster, which is how an event of this size ends up with a bill spread across the west coast bass and dance circuit rather than one city’s scene.

Tickets and the full programme are handled through Luma, with the organisers publishing announcements through the Sand and Subs channels. Apple Valley is around 90 minutes north east of Los Angeles on the I-15, the same road that runs to Las Vegas, which makes the drive straightforward from either direction. Mid November in the high desert means warm days and near freezing nights, so proper cold weather camping kit is essential rather than optional.
