About Oasis Festival NZ (Cobb Valley (Takaka), New Zealand)
Oasis holds its fourth edition in the Cobb Valley above Upper Takaka from 5 to 8 February 2027, four days in one of the most remote festival sites in New Zealand. The Cobb Dam Road climbs from the Takaka valley into the mountains behind Golden Bay, and the site sits well beyond the last of the farmland.
Golden Bay is reached from Nelson over the Takaka Hill, a road that discourages casual visitors, and the isolation that produces is the festival’s defining quality. Oasis has run since 2017, publishing official aftermovies for the earlier editions, and has grown slowly rather than scaling up.
Tickets are sold through Humanitix. Nelson is the nearest airport, around two hours from Takaka over the hill, with Takaka itself a further 40 minutes from the Cobb Valley site on a steep unsealed road. Early February in Golden Bay is the warmest part of the New Zealand summer. The remoteness means arriving self sufficient matters. For a New Zealand mountain music festival, Oasis is the furthest out.
