About INOTA Festival
INOTA Festival returns to the former Inota thermal power plant in Várpalota, Hungary, from 26 to 29 August 2027, under the tagline Festival of sound and vision. The festival turns one of Europe’s most striking post-industrial sites into a four-day space for electronic music, audiovisual art and contemporary culture.
The lineup for the 2027 edition has not been announced yet. Past editions have featured Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Sandwell District, D.Dan, Extrawelt, Loscil, Cormac, Alarico, Buzz Kull and Acid Pauli, which shows a programme that spans techno, ambient, experimental electronics, electro and leftfield club music alongside emerging artists and live acts.
The venue is central to the experience. Brutalist architecture, turbine halls, cooling towers and open-air spaces become stages, and powerful sound systems are matched with carefully designed lighting and stage concepts. The setting gives the festival a character that is hard to find at conventional festival sites.
Beyond the music, INOTA is known for light installations, digital art exhibitions and site-specific visual work that responds to the power plant’s industrial environment. The focus has been on artistic exploration rather than commercial spectacle, and the audience is open to unfamiliar sounds.
INOTA Festival 2027 takes place in late summer in a rural part of Hungary, so plan your travel and accommodation early. Follow the official channels for lineup news, ticket information and practical details as the date approaches.
