Future Forest (Fredericton, NB, Canada) 2027

Future Forest returns to the Little River Retreat from 5 to 9 August 2027, running Thursday to Monday for its thirteenth edition in the New Brunswick woods. The festival has used the same 200 acre woodlot on Little River since 2017, around 48 kilometres east of Fredericton, and books more than 200 artists a year across electronic music and immersive art. Entry is restricted to over 18s and the event is camping only.

The organisers describe it as fiercely independent and built by artists, and the format backs that up. Backwoods camping is included with a general admission pass: tent only, rustic, first come, with reserved sites available for vehicles and RVs on an unserviced basis. There is a dedicated accessible camping zone. There is also no mobile signal anywhere on site, so routes need downloading before arrival, and card payment is limited enough that cash is advised.

Glass is not permitted and the organisers publish a survival guide covering what to pack and what to expect from off grid forest camping. Tickets for 2027 went on sale ahead of the line up, which is standard for the event: 474 Facebook reviews return a 98 per cent recommendation rate, and that rather than the bill is what sells it. Fredericton has the nearest airport. It is a deliberately small Canadian music festival where the audience builds the event.
