Fort X Festival (Brežice, Slovenia) 2026

Fort X is a one-day house and techno festival held inside the walls and woodland of Mokrice Castle, a 15th century fortress in south-eastern Slovenia near Brežice, roughly 30 minutes from Zagreb Airport and an hour from Ljubljana. The first edition took place on 5 and 6 September 2026, with the programme starting on the Saturday afternoon and running through a sunrise session into Sunday morning. It is produced by BSH Events, the promoter behind a run of heritage venue shows across the region, together with Main Stage Travel, the British team responsible for Kala in Albania and Snowboxx in the French Alps.

Rather than building a temporary site, the organisers designed the event around the castle itself. The Courtyard hosted the daytime open air programme with house music from the afternoon, The Castle took over at night with techno and house against the historic architecture, and the Sunrise Afters carried the crowd through to 9am. The official bill ran to twelve names in alphabetical order: Âme DJ, Butch, Dixon, Fiona Kraft, Jimi Jules, Maceo Plex, Mīmī x Fy and Nic Fanciulli, joined by regional selectors Aney F., Elena Mikac, Joe Quinn and Pablo Panda. Capacity was capped on purpose so that the schedule could lean on longer sets rather than a fast rotation of short slots.

Fort X is strictly an 18+ event and photographic identification may be requested at the gate. Shuttle buses ran from Zagreb in rotation during the afternoon and back through the night, with a separate morning shuttle after the sunrise session, and limited priority parking near the castle could be booked in advance. The organisers have not announced the next edition yet; this page will be updated when 2027 dates are confirmed.
