Dope Jams Open-Air Festival (Oak Hill, NY, United States) 2027

Dope Jams Open-Air Festival returns to Oak Hill in upstate New York on 6 and 7 August 2027, continuing the annual outdoor party run by the Dope Jams crew. Dope Jams started as a record shop in Brooklyn before relocating to the Catskills, and the festival has grown out of that shop’s particular take on house and disco: deep, unfashionable and played on a soundsystem built for it.

The format has stayed consistent across editions. It is small, it runs outdoors on private land in Greene County, and the booking is drawn from the extended circle of DJs the shop has worked with rather than a conventional festival line up. The 2023 event was billed as the eighth annual open-air festival, which places the first around 2015, and footage from the 2017, 2022 and 2024 editions is online.

Tickets are listed through Resident Advisor, which is also where the organisers publish the bill. Oak Hill sits around 40 minutes south west of Albany and two and a half hours north of New York City, in the foothills of the Catskills. The 2027 line up had not been published at the time of writing. For anyone who follows the deeper end of American house, it is a music festival worth the drive.
