A bold new film diving deep into the raw pulse of Berlin’s underground rave culture has just released its trailer — and it’s already turning heads. Rave On, directed by Nikias Chryssos and Viktor Jakovleski, is more than just a fictional drama. It’s a cinematic immersion into the city’s legendary techno scene, filmed entirely at real Berlin locations. At the center of the story is a young producer, played by Aaron Altaras, who sets out on an electrifying “rave odyssey”, navigating the highs, lows, and surreal beauty of the nightlife that defines Berlin.

The film isn’t afraid to blend boundaries. It mixes scripted storytelling with guerrilla-style documentary techniques and hypnotic cinematography, capturing the sensory overload of a real night out. Cameos from underground icons like Hieroglyphic Being and Berlin DJ Lucia Lu lend authenticity, while veteran actor Clemens Schick adds emotional gravity. This hybrid format, combining fiction with the raw energy of real nightlife footage, promises a unique viewing experience that reflects the chaos and creativity of Berlin after dark.

Acquired by German sales agency The Playmaker, Rave On will debut at the Cannes Film Market on 15th May, 2025.

It’s a love letter to techno and Berlin’s nightlife.

Said Moritz Hemminger of The Playmaker.

International audiences are in for a wild ride.

From its unfiltered depiction of youth culture to its unapologetic celebration of rave as identity, Rave On arrives at a time when Berlin’s club culture continues to influence global music and film.

With this trailer, the countdown begins. Whether you’re a seasoned raver or a curious outsider, this film might be the closest thing to dancing until sunrise on Berlin’s industrial dancefloors, without ever leaving your seat.
