About
Ultra South Africa is the African outpost of Ultra Worldwide and runs as a two-city event each autumn. The 2027 edition is the festival’s twelfth and opens in Cape Town on Friday 30 April 2027 at The Ostrich, before moving to Johannesburg on 1 May. The official site lists both dates and venues, and the two legs share a single ticketing platform on Howler.
For the Cape Town leg, the first Afterglow general admission tier is on sale at 795 ZAR via the official ticket page. The organisers note that the event is rain or shine, standing room only and restricted to ages 18 and over, and that the lineup is subject to change. The 2027 lineup itself has not yet been announced, with the previous lineups archive on the official site giving a sense of the usual balance between international headliners and South African acts.
Ultra South Africa follows the format of its sister events, with a main stage and the RESISTANCE area for house and techno, which makes the Cape Town date a natural pick for techno festival fans in the region. The official site publishes a traffic management plan for the Cape Town venue, together with transport information, closer to the date. Aftermovies from previous editions are available on the Ultra channel UMF TV.
