Pines Party (Fire Island Pines, NY, United States) 2027

Pines Party returns to Fire Island Pines from Friday 30 July to Sunday 1 August 2027, running a weekend of beach and pool parties on the barrier island off Long Island’s south shore. The event is a benefit rather than a commercial festival: it is produced by the Pines Foundation, with proceeds from tickets, sponsorship and an online auction going back into community and health organisations serving the island and the wider New York LGBTQ community.

The format is built around a Saturday night beach party on the sand, with a pool party and a series of linked events across the weekend and themed production that changes each year. Past editions have carried titles including Labyrinth and Land Before Time, and the Pines dance scene has a lineage going back to the circuit parties of the 1970s that makes the weekend as much a tradition as an event.

Fire Island Pines has no cars. Visitors arrive by ferry from Sayville on Long Island, roughly 90 minutes from Manhattan by Long Island Rail Road plus a short taxi and a 20 minute crossing. Accommodation on the island is almost entirely private shares and house rentals, which book out months ahead for this weekend. The foundation also runs a volunteer programme. It is a beach music festival with a charitable backbone.
